“Vicki Spoonster School of Equitation” was founded by Vicki Spoonster over 30 years ago. Vicki started her riding career at the age of 15 when she began riding at Richlon Farm in Sharon Center, Ohio. After many years as a dedicated young equestrian she eventually became the head riding instructor at the farm. During her career Vicki educated her students not only on the basics of riding but also the joys of loving a horse. She instructed many local, national and world champions over the span of her career.

Vicki was an active member in the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA), as well as being a member of the United Professional Horseman’s Association (UPHA), American Saddlebred Horse Association of Ohio (ASHAO), United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and the American Riding Instructors Association. She was also active in “Just Say Whoa” an anti-drug and alcohol program for young riders. In addition to all she did for the horse world, Vicki was also a Registered Surgical Nurse at Akron City Hospital and an active member in community volunteer organizations. Vicki passed away in June of 2005 of colon cancer. Since her passing, her daughter Chrissy has taken over her legacy as a riding instructor and opened a place of her own, Lily Valley Farm in Sharon Center, Ohio.
